IT security and data protection firm Sophos has announced the results of its 2011 UK Partner Awards, bestowing the title of 'UK Partner of the Year' on Foursys for the tenth consecutive year. Smashing all previous records for new and renewal business, Foursys also received the coveted title for their ongoing commitment to Sophos and willingness to engage across many areas of the business.

In addition to 'UK Partner of the Year', Foursys also once again received the accolade of 'Public Sector Partner of the Year'. This was awarded based on their high levels of proactive involvement with Sophos’s Public Sector team, in particular with the NHS, and their ability to help Sophos drive through new initiatives in that sector.

"Foursys is very pleased to have won the Sophos awards for UK Partner of the Year for ten years in a row and also Public Sector Partner of the Year for the second time in a row," said Paul Prior, MD of Foursys. "We’ve worked closely with Sophos for over 12 years now and feel the relationship is stronger now than it has ever been. The sales, technical, financial and management teams at Sophos and Foursys are all working really closely together which means we get it right and we are both putting customer service at the top of the agenda. What has been really good news in the past year has been the new Sophos pricing initiatives in the NHS and Education sectors, and also the new SafeGuard product line, all of which have led to significant new business and cross-selling opportunities. This coming year will be a real challenge for all of us but the opportunities now are significant for both Sophos and Foursys, especially in view of the recent Astaro acquisition."

BMS received the New Partner of the Year award for their proactive and committed approach to the relationship with Sophos from day one, and early strong new business performance. Trustmarque Solutions were also recognised for their high levels of new and cross-sell revenue growth and close engagement with Sophos teams.

Mid-market Business Partner of the Year – Softcat – were commended for their proactive, customer-centric approach and engagement with internal teams. Insight scoped the Enterprise award after a strong performance this year, while TSG were recognised for their outstanding growth in the small business sector.

“Winning the small business partner of the year is great recognition for TSG,” said Steve Cox, CTO of TSG. “We are excited about the coming year especially with the new opportunities the Astaro acquisition will bring.”

Stuart Lambert at Foursys, was awarded 'Outstanding Individual Contribution' for his significant personal contribution, deep understanding of the Sophos portfolio and close working partnership with the Sophos public sector team over the past twelve months. Those at Sophos who have worked with Stuart described him as a ‘real asset to the team’.

The awards ceremony took place on 26 May at the DeVere Milton Hill Hotel, Oxfordshire, following the annual Sophos UK Partner Conference. The day-long conference, held at the prestigious Williams F1 Conference Centre, provides Sophos partners with an insight into the company's future plans and developments, and exposure to senior members of the Sophos management team. This year, partners were also invited to take part in team-building activities including Scalectrix, F1 simulators and Batak, laser clay pigeon shooting, falconry and a visit to the Williams F1 Museum.

"Sophos's annual conference and awards ceremony is all about celebrating our partners' successes and efforts over the past year, and equipping them with the knowledge and training to succeed again this year," said Ciaran Rafferty, Vice President, Sophos Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa. "At Sophos, we recognise the integral part our partners play in our success, and therefore we consistently invest in our partner community. Our channel team is arguably the biggest and best in the industry and this allows us to work closely with our partners in order to help them generate opportunity and close deals. Those partners who we have formally recognised today all have at least one thing in common and that is their willingness to engage with us and to go the extra mile in order to continue to deliver great growth.”
