Leading independent research firm notes that Sophos delivers strong security capabilities and has one of the best malware detection rates on the market today.

January 9, 2013 -- Sophos today announced that it has been positioned as a Leader in Forrester Research, Inc.’s new Client Security report, The Forrester Wave™: Endpoint Security, Q1 2013, a comprehensive overview of the endpoint protection vendor landscape. Forrester said that Sophos “delivers strong security capabilities,” and that its “antimalware product has one of the best malware detection rates on the market today and is well-reviewed in third-party studies.”

Among its strengths, Sophos was recognized for offering powerful threat protection capabilities and was recommended for consideration by “organizations that need to strengthen their endpoint protection, as well as those that have a sizable consumer endpoint population.”

Sophos was noted for its support for mobile device management and Mac, “which is becoming an increasingly important capability for enterprise environments.” According to the report, “the endpoint security market is evolving from AV-only to one that favors multiple functions in an integrated suite…from a single console.” Sophos’ Complete Security Suite protects users everywhere—from their network to their servers, endpoints and mobile devices. In particular, the forthcoming Sophos EndUser Protection license includes mobile device management as well as anti-malware, encryption, web filtering and patch assessment—everything that IT needs to enable use of mobile devices, smartphones and tablets, stop malware and protect data.
